Marie Anne Benoist
Marie Anne Benoist was baptized on May 9, 1665, in Montreal (Notre-Dame). She was the twin sister of Barbe Benoist and the daughter of Paul Benoist and Elisabeth Gobinet.[1]

First Marriage: Jean Bourbon
Marie Anne Benoist (15) married Jean Bourbon (27), the son of Jean Bourbon and Antoinette Poivre, on February 27, 1680, in Boucherville, Montreal, Canada, New France.[3] They had four children, one of whom died in infancy, and three who married.[4]

Second Marriage: Jean Besset
After the death of Jean Bourbon, Marie Anne Benoist, now a widow, remarried Jean Besset on May 16, 1695, in La Prairie (La-Nativité-de-la-Ste-Vierge).[6] They had one child, who died in infancy.[7]

- Barbe Elisabeth Bourbon (b. ~1680, d. January 26, 1754) married Pierre Brosseau on June 9, 1698.
- Marie Marguerite Bourbon (b. January 18, 1685) married Francois Marie on January 26, 1705.
- Marie Anne Bourbon (b. March 19, 1687, d. November 21, 1687) died at 9 months old.
- Marie Anne Bourbon (b. January 6, 1689) married Pierre Sarault on December 9, 1717.
Marie Anne Benoist and Jean Besset
- Marie Jeanne Besset (b. February 9, 1696, d. May 28, 1697) died in infancy.[8]
Death and Burial
Marie Benoist dit Livernois was buried in the cemetery of La Prairie (La-Nativité-de-la-Ste-Vierge) on August 9, 1697, after being killed by the Iroquois.[9]
Jean Bourbon
Jean Bourbon was the son of Jean Bourbon and Antoinette Poivre. He was born around 1653 in the parish of St-Étienne in Issoire, diocese of Clermont, in Auvergne (now part of France). He arrived in New France by 1673.[10]
Death and Burial
Jean Bourbon was killed by the Iroquois on September 4, 1690, during the attack on La Fourche de la Prairie de la Madeleine, along with several other men. His remains were buried in the cemetery of La Prairie, Canada, New France, on December 3, 1690.[11]
