Jacques Dodier (c.1637-1677)
Jacques Dodier was born around 1637-1638 in the parish of Saint-Médard de Champaissant, located in the diocese of Le Mans, the natural region of Saosnois, and the former province of Maine, France[6][7][8]. He was the son of Fiacre Dodier and Catherine Moineau (or Maineau)[9].
He migrated to Canada around 1656. His first mention in the new country was on November 30, 1656, in Québec during a land purchase (notary: Audouart)[10][11][12].
On May 29, 1662, in Québec, he signed a marriage contract before notary Claude Aubert to marry Catherine Caron. The marriage took place on November 30, 1662, at Chùteau-Richer[13][14].
Jacques Dodier died on November 30, 1677, and was buried on December 7, 1677, at Beaupré[15][16].
