Hello Mark I have been looking over your blog and am in awe and deeply moved. My mother would be one of those young women in any of the pictures you have. Her family was expelled from the Sudetenland at the wars end. I was a product from a friendship in the refugee camp before moving on when they could find housing. I was placed in an orphanage and adopted by Americans like so many children after the war. I know, or think I know that this is your family but would you know how I can locate other family names like my family? Just wondering. Thanks for your work on this, very moving.

Thank you for sharing these. I took my dad to visit Elbing, his birthplace in 2009. He had not been in germany for 60 years let alone prussia. After a 4 hr train journey from gdansk, we spent 30 mins before (I expect) a PTSD episode hit him and we had to leave. We hadn’t left the station area, and missed out on getting to see the town centre. He never has spoken about any of this so showing him photos of the past without war damage is really great for him. Hi Val. I am not certain what the problem is. The download works for me. Do you have a djvu plugin for your browser? Also does your browser allow pop-ups and/or downloads? Try hitting CTRL-F5 together (to clear your browser cache) perhaps that will help. I apologize for the difficulty.

and it took me to the 403 Forbidden

On list dates are arround 1880.
On other documents dates are from 1920 to end of ’30. I think so, there was too much of them to look closely to each one.
I hope that there will be some Sengers and Rechts. I will search deeper, maybe I will find any other documents from Zeyer region. Everything is possible here, I have paper chaos in my archieves.

Hello aartin, The documents you have access to are amazing! The “paper stuff” looks like it will contain numerous of my family members marriages, births, etc.

I can give you some dates to look at in your paper document, dates from important family events for the Sengers and Rechts. All I need to know is what are the date ranges of the paper materials and what they cover (births, deaths, marriages, etc.). Thank you so very much for telling me about this material. …mark
