Amazing and unexpected resources

I suppose many of you, like me, live in Communities offering library services.  Also probably like me, you have not really thought of your local library when you are stumped for new affordable (meaning Free) Genealogy Research resources.

Well this week while helping take care of my grandsons by watching riveting episodes of Disney Kids shows and web surfing, I stumbled upon a previously unvisited Douglas County Library webpage. By that I mean, I never had landed on that page before. You would think that a web link entitled Research might have ‘jumped out at me’ before, but it never did. Or if it did, I don’t remember having seen it before.  Anyway, there it was, a Research link. Who would ever have thought, that just one ‘quick’ click away, a wealth of History & Genealogy Research Tools awaited? Not me. Obviously.

Douglas County ResourcesIf you have not already examined your local library offerings, I urge you to check and see if they might offer similar tools. My library offers 17 categories of Free Tools. I urge to you hurry before the “Ministry of Truth” shuts down all local libraries; grab what knowledge you can. Feel free to use my library as an example if you need tangible materials for a campaign within your library system to get access to similar, or better, services.

In all seriousness, I truly appreciate what the good people in the Douglas County (Colorado) Library System are providing. If you are local to Douglas County Colorado, this material is precious. If you are not able to get to a Douglas County Library card, I encourage you to check your local library out. Who knows what treasure might be lurking just one link down…
