If you are interested in Mennonite, Hutterite, Amish research, this announcement is very significant.

Archion.de is in the process of providing online access to a significant body of Mennonite, Hutterite and Amish records.

The Mennonite Research Center operated by the Mennonite Historical Society (Mennonitscher Geschichtsverein e.V.) offers remembrance and a memory storage of the Mennonites, Hutterites and Amish. It includes a library and an archive and plus an extensive collection of material concerning the history of the Anabaptist movement. It also stores original church books of some German, Ukrainian and Polish Mennonite communities.

Note: Mennonite church books are often in poor condition. Because of the records fragility, on site (in person) viewing is severely limited. The upcoming online availability of these rare & fragile records will provide broad access.
