This is so interesting!! It shows that this family was one of the earliest French families living in Clinton County. Given the time period, could it be that they left Quebec because of the Rebellion de Patriotes in 1837-1838?

Hi David
I have no indication of their having had any involvement in the Rebellion. However, the other side of my father’s family was also in Clinton County early. Euphemie Robidoux was there by 1845; her husband Raphael was in Altona by 1855. They were from the same geographic area in Quebec as the Dion-Deyos (near Lacolle).
Thank you for the comment… I’ll see if I can find anything out about their potential involvement in the Rebellion.
