I am doing research on the families of Klein Tromnau. Many of these are now in Grey County, Ontario, Canada, mostly around Desboro, and Williamsford, north-west of Toronto about 200 kms. My families are the Mischke, Baumgart, Janke, Dittmer, and the related families like Hoeft, Bliech, Lettau, Musahl, Slumskie, Maluske, and others. So many left in the 1850s and 1860s. I wish to go to Klein Tromnau for a visit someday, I think it is about 20 kms west of Marienwerder, which I think is Kwydcyn now. The spellings may be incorrect. There may be a few left in the Grey County area who still speak the old german from that area. My grandfather spoke it but he died in 1973. His youngest sister died about ten years ago.
