Any idea where Juelich, Rheinland, Prussen was in the 1850s?
I can’t find it on any map, nor can any of my friends in Germany (c/b Poland?)
My “Adoptive” great grandfather, Franz HOFF, m. Catherine Gertrud Hubertina NIX, lived there & He died there, ca 1858, she died ca. 1860. Of his 8 sons, 3 came to the US, ca 1860s – 70s, Franz, Herman, & my G father, Stephen H.

Hi Kathy, Looks to me like Google thinks Juelich is on the border of Holland see: http://tinyurl.com/7yzflxz In the 1850′s Prussia was spread quite wide from Russia to France, with a few holes in between. They key is you are looking for the country not the province(s). See: http://www.many-roads.com/2011/06/08/evolution-of-germany-from-1867/
